‘ZipZag Rides was born out of the successful engineering consultancy, Castree, that has a specialism in amusement technology. Before founding Castree in 2010, my career was with several consulting engineering practises. The work included tension and cable roof structures and leisure devices of all sizes, ranging from reverse bungees, roller coasters and up to the London Eye. It is a great privilege to be surrounded by the enthusiastic team, creating a ride we are all passionate about. Welcome to ZipZag!’

Dan started working with Dave as a Structural Engineer in 2016 and his journey into the wonderful world of Zip-Coasters started not long after. With over a hundred bespoke Zip-Coaster designs in his portfolio, he is proud to be leading the amazing technical team at ZipZag, driving the design and delivery of world class amusement rides.
BEng (Hons) Aeronautics & Astronautics
Jan joined ZipZag in 2016 following a career move from the Aeronautical Engineering sector. Her role has developed & expanded with the growth of the company, and she is now responsible for the smooth running of the delivery of the ride, in time and to budget. Also, the proud owner of Rory – office therapy dog
Emma was given the opportunity to assist with ZipZag’s first trade show in Amsterdam back in 2018, 5 years later, she is still here and has gained a lot of knowledge and experience! Emma’s natural organisational skills and knowledge of the product allow her to work confidently within the Logistics & Dispatch department and assist in the Marketing department when necessary.
MEng Aerospace Engineering
Jimmy was involved in one of ZipZag’s early installations on an undergraduate placement. Upon graduating ZipZag snapped him up. He has since taken a full-time role at ZipZag rides, where he demonstrates outstanding technical ability as a senior project engineer as well as head of Research & development.
MEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering
Jonny joined ZipZag in early 2021, having previously worked in the automotive and manufacturing engineering sectors. The transition into the amusement rides industry has been challenging and exciting to say the least! As a Senior Project Engineer, Jonny is responsible for the delivery of rides over the whole project, taking them from the initial schemes, all the way through to installation and commissioning
Peter started his ZipZag journey in 2018 working with the site team on all project installations. His passion for client interaction quickly put him into a sales role where he became the link between the client and the ZipZag design team as well as actively pursuing new clients and growing our sales portfolio. He has a very dynamic sales role, and once the ride installation is complete, Peter remains heavily involved in after sales care and operator training.
Dave first joined the ZipZag team during an early installation back in 2018. He has since installed on numerous projects and travelled around the world. That experience and his keen eye for detail has enabled him to diversify his now UK based work role, between Quality Control, R&D, Component Assembly and Logistics & Dispatch.
MSc Mechanical Manufacturing (Hons)
Aled joined ZipZag early 2022 after completing his master’s in mechanical manufacturing. Aled is a member of ZipZag’s design team and gets involved in both concept and detailed design. Aled has already contributed to several successful projects around the world and continues to grow as a talented designer with every day. His dedication and new perspective make him a valuable addition to the engineering department.
BA (Hons) Product Design
Sam started with the company in 2019 as a freelance product designer and soon after took an opportunity to join the team in a full-time role. Sam works primarily within the design department demonstrating a strong ability to deliver both amazing looking renders as well as accurate technical drawings. He continues to be a valuable member of the design team here at ZipZag.
BA (Hons) ACA
Louisa started working at ZipZag in the accounts department in the Summer of 2019. She loves the variety of work and being part of an enthusiastic, professional, and fun team. She says the best part of the past four years has been watching ZipZag grow and expand, it has been quite a ride!
Max has recently joined ZipZag on a full-time basis helping things run smoothly from Office and Stock Management all the way to supporting on installations. He brings a positive ‘can-do’ attitude to the team and is very excited by the opportunity to develop professionally with ZipZag.
Rory joined ZipZag as a youngster in 2018. According to several studies an office dog can “offer social support, reduce stress, increase cognitive abilities and social interaction and counteract depression and anxiety in people” and Rory has been keen to develop into this role. Alongside his other duty of office protector.
